Disaster Necessities: Safe Cleanup and Smart Insurance

The following videos were developed to assist restoration companies, victims, volunteers, and recovery teams in the recovery efforts from recently affected hurricane regions. The cleanup from Hurricane Harvey is still well underway in Texas and now in Florida following the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

Hurricane Harvey Safety and Clean Up

This video focuses on safety concerns and precautions, proper clean-up and remediation steps that should be followed, information on how to select a qualified contractor, and time for Q&As. The information is presented by Destry Ransdell, President of TEC Pro, which provides training, education and consulting to companies in the restoration/remediation industry. Destry is also an IICRC Instructor, an IICRC Certified Master Textile Cleaner, Master Water Restorer and Master Fire and Smoke Restorer. He has worked in the remediation/restoration industry for 12 years as an estimator, project manager and technician and has even been a Health and Safety Director for several employers. Destry still remains in the field as a consultant and trainer, which keeps him on top of the best practices, newest methods and equipment. Prior to this, Destry worked in the reconstruction field.

Flood Insurance Help and Guidance –

This video educates the viewer on what is covered in a flood policy, how one goes about filing a flood claim, the best way to document damages, losses, time and money spent, and time for Q&As. The information is presented by Michael Carli, a certified flood adjuster who owns and operates Carli Associates, Inc. and All Seasons Adjusting, a national flood adjusting company servicing the continental United States. He has been in the insurance industry for over 23 years after having started as a project manager for a restoration company in Chester County. He formed his own business, Carlie Associates, Inc. in 1993. Over the last 19 years, Carli has taken sabbaticals as an adjuster to work with a restoration company and Travelers Insurance. While at Travelers Insurance, Mr. Carli was the National Flood Insurance Program Claims Manager and was responsible for ensuring the cooperate and FEMA NFIP claims adjustment guidelines were being followed by their Claims Servicing Partner.  Mr. Carli has adjusted commercial and residential of catastrophic flood and wind claims for Hurricane Francis, Jeanne, Ivan, Dennis, Katrina, Rita, Wilma, Gustav, Ike, Irene, TS Lee and all major flooding events throughout the country since 2006.
