No Scanner Policy

As a matter of policy, Berks Fire Water Restorations, Inc.℠ source of business rests solely on our reputation for excellence in the field of restoration. Although it is common place in our industry, we do not use  scanners or other means to solicit services. We only arrive on-site if we are invited by an insured or an insured’s representative such as: an insurance agent or an emergency responder.

We Do Not Work With Public Adjusters

Berks Fire ∙ Water Restorations, Inc.℠ does not work on any restoration projects that are under contract with a Public Adjuster. We believe that more often than not the involvement of a Public Adjuster compromises the process of working with the insured and the insurance carrier when returning the  property to pre-loss condition and indemnifying the insured in accordance with the policy.

Licensing and Certifications

You can be assured Berks Fire Water Restorations, Inc.℠ maintains all certifications and licensing mandated by the state of Pennsylvania and follows the recommended standards by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and  Restoration Certification, IICRC.

As a certified firm,  Berks ∙ Fire ∙ Water Restorations, Inc.℠ works for you, the property owner.  We work with your insurance company to  restore your property to pre-loss condition.

Glossary

Insurance Carrier: The company that issues and assumes the risk of an insurance policy.

Insurance Adjuster: A representative of the insurance carrier whose responsibility is to “adjust” or settle the claim in accordance with the policy.

Independent Adjuster: An independent consultant hired by your insurance company who seeks to determine the extent of the insurer’s liability for loss when a claim is submitted.

Restoration Contractor: Provides emergency and restoration services for your property damage offering expertise and specialized skills necessary for restoration and reconstruction of property and understands the insurance claim process.

Insurance Policy: A contract between the insurance carrier and the insured, known as the policy holder.

Indemnify: The principle of Indemnity-no insured should be in a better position after a loss than before a loss.  To make compensation to for incurred hurt, loss or damage.

Endorsements: Special provisions added to an insurance policy to enhance or restrict its coverage.

Subrogation: An insurer’s right to recover payment from a negligent third party.

Policy Limits: The maximum amount an insured may collect or for which an insured is protected, under the terms of the policy.
